In the evolving and changing world, events outside our homes are now just a click away. Almost everyone has a phone, a television at home, and many other communication devices. Social media and communication tools are no longer a luxury but a necessity; they are our eyes, hands, and arms to the outside world. However, can we say that we are truly connected to reality when we are so attached to social media? I often ask myself this question. We are all aware that what is portrayed on social media doesn’t always reflect reality, yet we tend to believe what we see. Media has become an inseparable part of our daily lives. Among these media tools, radio and television have the power to rapidly disseminate real information. However, these platforms bear a significant responsibility for conveying accurate and truthful information. In recent years, there have been various concerns about the credibility of the media. Accuracy, impartiality, and transparency in news reporting should be fundamental principles of the media. Nevertheless, due to commercial pressures or political influences, accurate information can sometimes become misleading. Radio and television hold a substantial responsibility in delivering accurate information to society. Verifying news sources and presenting various perspectives fairly contribute to a more informed society. The media should not only deliver accurate information but also strive to enhance media literacy among individuals. Teaching people how to analyze news, question sources, and discern accurate information can reduce misinformation. In conclusion, radio and television play a critical role in disseminating genuine information. However, they should adhere to the principles of accuracy, impartiality, and transparency. The media should contribute to the public’s awareness and access to accurate information. It’s crucial for individuals to become more literate in media consumption for a healthier consumption of news. We visited the television studio in Badalona to see how the news is prepared, and I had the chance to witness what goes on behind television and radio. It was very important for me. We saw the working rooms, the shooting studio, and the radio.
