Barcelona International training course; for the social inclusion through sport and international cooperation. (june 2019)

From the 11th to 17th of june, we organized a new training meeting of the project Erasmus+ Sport “Sport for all begins” with the participation of Special Olympics Romania, Terres en Melees from France, and the Club Korfbal Badalona and la Rotllana from Spain. The satisfaction of the participants regarding the contents, methodology and the program of the course has been really high.

As the program wanted to give know ledges and theoretical information and at the same time the opportunity of practice in a real situation, the agenda during the formation was really full. The activities had two main axes: the equality of the access to opportunities through the socio-community sport and the international cooperation and co-development through sport. As a consequence of this lines of work we always treat contents as promotion of volunteering, gender equality and healthy habits in social sport.

Participants made different workshops, theoretical-practical, with the method of non-formal education, which after have been applied in educative environments and in the street. In that way members of the course knew the didactics and possibilities of emerging and more social sports such as Kinball, the ultimate frees-bee, touch rugby, and korfbal.

After the experiential learning, the sports modalities could be applied to real environments, which had some of the most important challenges, such as converting sport into a tool of social cohesion in environments vulnerables for poverty and with the difficulty to articulating cultural diversity.

Participants experienced in first person by going in the streets of Badalona, where La Rotllana and club Korfbal Badalona are doing their social work, primaries and secondary schools, the opportunities of the sport as a educational instrument and also, the difficulties that in real circumstances, can be founds.

Staying in Badalona, give them the opportunity of working with specials  groups as the Pakistani community of the city, and in a transversal way, the Maghreb community.

The last focus of the training was about sharing experiences between entities, on how focus on sports as an instrument for the cooperation and development, in which spanish and french organizations have more experience because of their projects in Africa.

It was a really intensive schedule, with a lot of different activities, which has a really good atmosphere thanks to the interest of the participants. The staying was in the natural park of Collserola, in the hostal In&Out, which, even was not so helpful for the journeys, was a really good place for disconnect at the end of the day and start the day of work in a relaxed surroundings.
