GOOD PRACTICE FROM PAU

Hello, my name is Pau Rodrigo Miralles. I am one of the participants in the WINS project from Spanish group. I am from La Sénia, a town of the south of Catalonia, but I’m currently living in Salou for work. I don’t work with anything related to sport but my job consists of helping people with intellectual disabilities, although sometimes I participate in the organization of soccer and futsal tournaments and I am also a soccer coach, but right now, I don’t work in that. When I worked as a football coach, I witnessed some good practices of inclusion in sport because I had in my team a boy with mild intellectual disability and sometimes he was distracted but his teammates always helped him to refocus. That’s why I came up with the idea of doing my final degree project about the inclusion of children or youth with mild disabilities and illnesses in football. Because I think that as society, we should try to change the form of sports a bit to make it more inclusive for everyone. In Wins, I was able to share knowledge and my experiences with other people and learn activities focused on making sport more inclusive in every field. Furthermore, I met wonderful and fantastic people who have now become my friends. I wish this project to continue because it is one of the few projects I know that promote a more inclusive sport and society.
